Materials and Temperature Ranges
Depending on the application, we manufacture exhaust hoses from various coated fabrics. Silicone-coated fiberglass fabrics are suitable for temperatures up to +310°C and offer high flexibility combined with low weight—ideal for use in extraction systems. Neoprene-coated fabrics are the cost-effective solution for the mid-temperature range up to +150°C. Additional specialty materials are available for particularly demanding environments with high mechanical and thermal stresses.
All of our exhaust hoses are designed as spiral hoses with an internal spring steel coil. This design ensures high flexibility, good dimensional stability, and a largely smooth inner wall—all of which are important for optimal airflow and minimal pressure loss.
Typical applications
Our exhaust hoses are used in a wide range of industries: in automotive and commercial vehicle workshops for connection to exhaust extraction systems and hose reels; on engine test benches in the automotive industry; in fire stations to vent vehicle exhaust before deployment; in defense technology for military vehicles and power units; and in stationary and mobile power generators. Our hoses are also used for welding fume extraction.
Choosing the Right Exhaust Hose
Choosing the right exhaust hose depends on the maximum operating temperature, the required inner diameter, the required flexibility, and the mechanical stresses at the application site. For workshop exhaust systems with hose reels, lightweight, highly flexible models are particularly recommended. For use on test benches or in industrial settings, where the hose is exposed to higher mechanical stresses, more robust designs are the better choice.
Please note: In many applications, fresh air is drawn in along with the exhaust gases. This cools the hot exhaust gases and protects the hose. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the required fresh air supply, especially for hoses designed for lower temperatures.
