PU hoses

Why PU hoses?
Polyurethane (PU) is the standard material for heavy-duty suction and conveying hoses in industrial applications. Compared to PVC, PU hoses are many times more abrasion-resistant, significantly more durable, and the more economical choice for conveying abrasive media—despite their higher purchase price. The reason: Depending on the application, a PU hose can last several times longer than a PVC hose, which reduces the total cost over its service life.
Our PU hoses are made of high-quality polyurethane with a sheathed spring steel spiral embedded in the wall. The largely smooth interior ensures optimal material flow and reduces buildup—a key advantage over corrugated hoses or hoses with an exposed spiral.
An overview of our PU product range
We manufacture PU hoses in various weight classes and special designs:
Lightweight PU hoses (wall thickness approx. 0.4 mm) offer maximum flexibility and compressibility. They are ideal for use on a variety of machines and for extraction arms.
Reinforced PU hoses (with a wall thickness of 0.7 mm or more) are designed to withstand higher mechanical stresses and continuous use in stationary extraction systems.
Heavy-duty conveyor hoses are suitable for transporting coarse, highly abrasive materials such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic, gravel, sand, or blasting media.
Antistatic PU hoses allow for the safe dissipation of electrostatic charges when the spiral is grounded and are essential for conveying materials that can become statically charged.
Electrically conductive PU hoses are suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Food-grade PU hoses that meet FDA standards are approved for contact with food and are suitable for use in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries.
Microbe-resistant PU hoses are resistant to microbial growth and are particularly suitable for outdoor applications, municipal engineering, and use in damp environments.
Key Technical Specifications
All of our PU hoses are designed for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +90°C, with short-term exposure up to +125°C. The hoses are available in inner diameters ranging from 30 mm to 500 mm. We can produce intermediate sizes, custom lengths, and custom assemblies upon request.
Applications for PU hoses
Typical applications include extraction and dust collection systems, the wood and furniture industry (chips, dust, sawdust), plastics processing (granules, regrind), the food industry (bulk materials, grains, pellets), agricultural machinery and silo transport, metalworking (grinding dust, blasting media), cleaning technology and industrial vacuum cleaners, as well as mechanical and plant engineering.
PU vs. PVC – Which Is the Better Choice?
PU hoses are the right choice when conveying abrasive solids or when a long service life is required. PVC hoses are suitable for conveying clean air, gaseous media, or light dusts where abrasion resistance is not a key consideration. You can find an overview of our PVC hoses in thePVC Hoses category. For the extraction of exhaust gases and flue gases in high-temperature applications, we recommend ourexhaust hosesmade of coated fabrics.

Woodworking
For the woodworking we offer special extraction hoses that are flame-retardant and certified to DIN 4102 B1. They are ideally suited for conveying flammable, abrasive solids such as wood chips.
Food safe hoses
For the food and beverage industry we offer food safe suction hoses for the food and beverage industry. They meet the strict requirements for hygiene and cleanliness and are specially designed for contact with food.
Antistatic suction hoses
Our antistatic suction hoses are ideal when it comes to dissipating static abrasion. These hoses have been specially developed to ensure that they do not build up a static charge during operation.
Electrically conductive hoses
Our electrically conductive suction hoses are optimized for handling abrasive solids. Their ability to dissipate electrical charges makes them particularly valuable in environments with an increased risk of ignition.
Microbe resistant hoses
In areas where the hose could come into contact with microbes, our microbe-resistant suction hoses are an excellent choice. They are resistant to the growth of microorganisms and help to extend the service life of the hose.
